Thursday Preview Evening – Ticket Details

Tickets for the special festival Preview Evening on Thursday 3rd July will go on sale from Saturday 7th June.

They will be available from The Beech Inn, Beech Road, Chorlton.

There will only be 300 tickets available for sale.

Tickets will be priced at £10 and will include your souvenir festival glass, a copy of the festival programme and a £5 beer/cider token so you can get straight to the bar. Cash payments only at The Beech Inn please.

If you would like to buy a ticket but cannot get to The Beech Inn, please e-mail thursday@chorltonbeerfestival.org.uk stating your name and how many tickets you require.

Champion Speciality Beer Competition 2014

The Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival is pleased to have again been selected to host the North West round of CAMRA’s Champion Speciality Beer Of Britain competition.
A panel of judges will blind taste eight of the finest speciality beers from across the North west as nominated by thousands of local CAMRA members. Speciality beers include beers flavoured with fruit, spices, honey, chocolate etc as well as unusual styles including wheat beers, lambics and saisons.
Dunham Massey Chocolate Cherry MildTwo years ago, Dunham Massey Chocolate Cherry Mild took the Gold award at the 8th Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival. Success in the regional round at Chorlton took it to the national round judging at the Great British Beer Festival at London Olympia where the beer took the title of Champion Speciality Beer Of Britain.
Last year’s winner Offbeat brewery’s Way Out Wheat also went on to further awards, coming away with Bronze in the Champion Beer Of The North West when judged at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival.
The competition will be judged on Friday 4th July, with the winners expected to be announced around 6pm.

The Chorlton Beer & Cider Festival enters its 10th year in 2014 and to celebrate this landmark, the festival is expanding. This year’s event will be bigger, better and LONGER than ever before with the addition of a special preview session on Thursday 3rd July. The festival will also be open earlier on Saturday 5th July.
Full opening times will be:
Thursday 3rd July: 6pm – 10pm
Friday 4th July: 5pm – 10.30pm
Saturday 5th July: 1pm – 9.30pm
Entry to the Thursday preview session will be by advance ticket only and will be limited to just 300 people to give a different experience of the festival – all the great beers* without the crowds. Details of when and where to obtain tickets will be released in mid-May.
The festival will feature a larger range of crafted cask beers than ever before, including old favourites alongside new beers from some of the country’s new breed of brewers who are pushing British brewing to new heights. There will be more cider and perry than ever before and our foreign beers bar will be adding beers from the USA to their range of the best Belgian Beers.
